The misconception here is that scanners will reveal all suits no matter what. But the Gallente Scout suit has already proven that misconception to be exactly what it is... a misconception at best. Imagine a fully maxed out Gallente Scout decked out in Complex Profile Dampeners on all low slots and a cloaking equipment. Suddenly, the proto scanners will be crying "nerf" just because only one suit is capable of evading them.

You sacrifice 4 slots just to avoid my scanner, and it took me less than half of what you spent to avoid me lol your suit is garbage.
Dude, it's a scout. You expect any tank at all on a scout suit? The point of the scout is to surprise you and that is it's only means of survival like any other scout. Also, I usually run a pair of Ishukone Nova Knives. Do you have any idea how powerful those knives are? Even on a Gallente scout with only one sidearm damage mode fitted, the Ishukones will one-hit-kill most assaults. Two hits if it's used against a Logi which is no problem since after the first hit most of your HP will be gone and I will only need a quick-slash to finish you off. As long as I get the jump on you first, you're dead.
The loss of armor and speed is just a tiny price to pay for the major advantages provided by a cloak. I would know since I have been a dedicated nova knifer from the very beginning. I have not invested a single SP into any other weapon other than a swarm launcher and the SMG and even those are only up to advanced level. I have Level 5 on Nova Knife Operation and Nova Knife Proficiency and I can run a proto Mini Scout on my main and proto Gal Scout on my alt. I know what I'm doing.
